The Highland Commerce Guild is proud to announce that it will again sponsor a visual art event for 2009. “The Heart of the Highlands” will showcase the talent of local artists and focus attention on our many neighborhood treasures.
Photographers and painters alike are encouraged to present what they love about the Highlands. The contest is open to both professionals and nonprofessionals. There will also be a children’s division.
All images are welcome – from the real to the surreal. Subject matter may include, but is not limited to: streetscapes, people, night scenes, architecture, and famous places like Cave Hill, Farmington and Cherokee Park.
Entry forms are available at many Highland’s businesses and on the Web at TheHighlandsOfLouisville.com. The deadline for entries is October 1, 2009. A $10 fee includes up to three entries. Artwork will be judged in October and prizes will be awarded for first, second and third place winners on November 5.
The Highland Commerce Guild is a nonprofit business association dedicated to enhancing the commercial and social climate of the area. Proceeds from the contest will be donated to Gilda’s Club Louisville.
