SPOTLIGHT: THE FAIRNESS CAMPAIGN’S AFTERPARTY

The Fairness Campaign launches its 20th anniversary celebrations on Saturday, March 12, with a Gaga-themed “AfterPARTY” following the concert by Lady Gaga herself at the KFC Yum! Center. Derek Saathoff, Louisville native and star of Logo’s “The A List: New York,” will host the AfterPARTY. It takes place from 11 p.m. to 2 a.m. at the Kentucky International Convention Center, 221 Fourth Street. Tickets to the event are $25 in advance or $30 at the door, with a $100 VIP Lounge option. SPOTLIGHT: 38TH ANNUAL ST. PATRICK’S PARADE
The Ancient Order of Hibernians (AOH) will honor fallen police, firemen and first responders in the 38th Annual AOH St. Patrick’s Parade with a special noon mass at St. Louis Bertrand on Saturday, March 12. Over 100 units, including those from Louisville police and fire houses, are expected again for this year’s parade that begins at 3 p.m. along the Baxter Avenue/Bardstown Road corridor. The 2011 theme is “Hooley in the Highlands.” AOH sponsors several events in March to kick off the celebrations for St. Patrick.  A “Wearin’ O’ the Green” private party featuring Irish music by Cloigheann will be held on Saturday, March 5, at Frazier Hall, Bellarmine University. BRIGHTSIDE/UPS COMMUNITY WIDE CLEANUP
Louisville Metro area, 8 a.m. -Noon, free. Register your family, friends, employer, place of worship, suburban city, group, organization or school for the Brightside/UPS Community-Wide Cleanup. Last fall, more than 5,400 volunteers removed 28 tons of trash from streets, sidewalks and green spaces. Volunteers receive free bags and gloves.  T-shirts available to the first 5,000 volunteers.
