As a dog owner and avid dog walker, I notice signs in yards throughout my neighborhood urging dog owners to “pick up” after their pets. A quick sampling found signs in the Bonnycastle and Highlands-Douglass neighborhoods, as well as in Seneca Park, where Steve Lancaster (top photo) drives twice a day to walk Gatsby and Meeks, his two golden retrievers. Lancaster says he always carries two bags with him and has more in the car if needed.
No matter which neighborhood it’s in or how the sign reads, it is obvious that the simple task of picking up after our pets is expected and much appreciated!
