In turbulent economic times, professional advice has its appeal. Matt Montgomery’s new Edward Jones office in the Douglass Loop aims to offer that advice on a personal level.
Montgomery, a financial advisor, explains that his goal is to “make sense of investments and investing for the serious investor.” When asked what he meant by “serious,” Montgomery was quick to clarify that it doesn’t just mean people with a lot of money. He says, “It’s someone who has a goal and wants to try to reach it, no matter how big or small.”
Open since late January beside the Douglass Loop Barber Shop, Montgomery says this Edward Jones location provides personal services and specializes in retirement preparation, as well as saving for education and managing tax liabilities. He notes, “In this unprecedented time in the market, it’s all the more important to have a well-diversified portfolio and a recovery plan. When so much has changed, it’s time to step back and re-evaluate.”
Montgomery, a Highlands native and current resident, has been involved with stocks and investing for over 20 years. He’s glad to bring Edward Jones to the neighborhood because even though “everything you need is right here,” he felt there was a need for more financial advice in the area. Now, instead of going online or going downtown, you can “talk to a live human being about your financial future.”
